For people seeking new formats for cultural activities, exploring untouristed corners of the city, or looking for alternative and non-obvious routes, we have prepared walks and events for which Park Bródnowski is sometimes used as a point of reference.
Urban drifts
We invite visitors to take part in thematic dérives or “drifts” around the Targówek district and the environs of Park Bródnowski. Planned drifts include botanical, historical and geopolitical explorations led by artists, scientists and urban activists.
For detailed information on the upcoming drifts, click on Events.
Map Art—Art Map
We also encourage users to tour the park and neighbourhood using a Map prepared in an artistic event by a group of Bródno middle-schoolers:
Each spot marked on the map corresponds to a photo, film or sound commentary by participants in the project MAP ART—ART MAP: BIENNALE OF ART FOUND IN BRÓDNO.
In the spring of 2014, as part of the project MAP ART—ART MAP: BIENNALE OF ART FOUND IN BRÓDNO, students at middle schools near the Bródno Sculpture Park were invited to an exercise taking a different view of the surrounding reality of Bródno housing estates. During walks around the neighbourhood along routes proposed by local culture animators, young people sought non-artistic items that reminded them of contemporary art objects. In a series of over a dozen events combining lectures, workshops and study hikes, the project participants prepared an interactive virtual map of the district, where they located sites in Bródno where they had perceived art. The items were placed on the map together with pictures, stories or sounds, and signed by the young curators who selected them during their walks and developed them artistically during the workshops.
