The sixteenth season of the Bródno Sculpture Park is a time when the outdoor exhibition of works from the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, normally located in the Bródno Park, gains a new background and context.
In February 2025, the Museum began exhibiting at its new location at 103 Marszałkowska Street with a display of its collections entitled “Impermanent” It presents nearly 150 works collected during the period when the Museum did not have its own exhibition space. At that time, the Sculpture Park in Bródno made it possible to make the collection available to a wide audience.
Sixteen years of cooperation between the Museum and the Targówek District Office resulted in the creation of fifteen sculptures and many artistic activities. While walking through the park, you can come across works in which artists experiment with art in public space, broadening its traditional understanding. Here you can find both classic sculptural forms and installations, painting and sound interventions, as well as activities based on relations with the local community and educational projects.
The current moment allows us to look at the MSN collection from a broader perspective. Looking at locations on both sides of the Vistula River, we suggest tracking down the works of the same artists in different contexts. Works by artists such as Magdalena Abakanowicz, Paweł Althamer, Nikita Kadan, Roman Stańczak, Monika Sosnowska, and Rirkrit Tiravanija will be on display both among the greenery of the park in Bródno and in the minimalist white exhibition rooms on Marszałkowska Street.
The summer program of the Sculpture Park in Bródno includes a series of curated tours that will reveal the relationships between the two locations of the Museum. These meetings will introduce ways of thinking about the role of art and discuss the process of building a collection. They will also be an opportunity to look at the sculptures in the Park in the broader context of the MSN's activities.
We are not giving up on our existing, proven, and popular forms of contact with the public. From July 5 to August 31, every Saturday and Sunday, open creative activities led by Museum educators will take place in the vicinity of the Tea House. Artists have also been invited to participate, and on selected weekends they will offer activities that draw on the potential of the park's open space and surrounding nature. Krzysztof Maniak, Paulina Pankiewicz with Mariusz Zacheja, and Józek Gałązka will explore various ways of creating and experiencing art together with the public. The Tea House – the smallest cultural center in Warsaw, which is both a sculpture and a place for summer gatherings – will become the center and starting point for this year's activities in the Park.
We encourage you to freely explore the collection, map out your own sightseeing routes, and seek out individual ways of experiencing art on both sides of the Vistula River.
